GCC-SYNERGY: Digital Solutions for Electricity Decarbonization by Global Climate Community İzmir Project

Under the European Commission’s Horizon Europe research and innovation program, the “GCC-SYNERGY: Digital Solutions for Electricity Decarbonization by Global Climate Community İzmir” project is being carried out under the coordination of İzmir Metropolitan Municipality, in partnership with the Energy Industrialists and Business Association (ENSİA), Ege University (Solar Energy Institute), İZENERJİ A.Ş., GDZ Elektrik Dağıtım A.Ş., and the The Aegean Forest Foundation(EOV). The project will be run from September 2024 to August 2026.

As part of the European Commission’s “100 Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities Mission,” İzmir, which has been awarded the title of “Mission City” for its goal of achieving climate neutrality by 2030 and becoming a sustainable, smart, and innovative city, will host the GCC-Synergy Project for three years.

Through the development of the “GCC-SYNERGY: Digital Solutions for Electricity Decarbonization by Global Climate Community İzmir” digital platform, we aim to revolutionize the management of electricity consumption by providing real-time monitoring, analysis, and actionable insights for selected pilot projects. This platform will serve as a catalyst for decarbonization efforts, empowering all types of electricity consumers to optimize their energy usage and transition towards sustainable practices.
